What role has religion played in helping you with your mental illness?

I don't have a specific religion, as I believe they are too restricting. I am very spiritual, though. I go to a non-denominational church and love it! We teach from the Bible, we worship God, and sing Christian songs of praise. My mental attitude has improved tremendously. I have a better outlook on life, and I am learning to love myself because God loves me, and I was created in His image, just as we all are.
