Girl problems, please help!!!?

I have a problem getting a girlfriend. I am a nice, honest, guy and I am very friendly. I am a bit shy but I talk more as I get to know you. I have had alot of girls become my friends, but the problem is that I can't get p that with anybody. I am an average looking guy. I know how to treat a girl the right way. How come nobody wants to date me? Is it because girls don't go for the nice guys? I am not y at all an I am very friendly to girls I meet. How come that doesn't work? Do I need to change and become a little more straightforward? I'm afraid that if I go too fast, they will reject me and I'll ruin my chances. Would any girls date someone like me? What type of guys do girs like? I would really appreciate some help.
