Is it a normal reaction to rift & have heartburn after ingesting a Fish Oil gel tab?

10 minutes after I took it...I tasted & smelled fish. They are well within the date according to the pkg. I'm just a little concerned that this is an unusual reaction. I eat fish all the time and am not allergic to anything. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks
