What is the NFL rule about not letting a game be aired at end of regulation if going to OT?

I am 6 hours away from Kansas City, and I was watching the end of the Kansas City Dallas game that followed the Vikings/Rams game. Right after KC scored fox news came on and said that because of NFL rule they are not allowed to air the conclusion of the KC/Dallas game. What rule is this?? BTW I have cable
