Is it really a discussion?

I have looked at a lot of blogs, News columns, and E-Mags, in these last few months and was really startled by the lack of respect we(Americans) give to each other during discussions of political views and beliefs. So, I want to know - Is it really a discussion when you drop the 4 letter words, racist accusations, or slander to make your point?
