Why are continental climates found in the northern hemisphere but not in the southern hemisphere?

Because the southern hemisphere does not have large continental land-mes. The only continental land in the southern hemisphere is the southern half of South America, the southern third of Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. These are all fairly small compared to the northern hemisphere, plus Antarctica does not get enough sunlight to make even a moderately continental climate.
