What is the best mascara that volumizes and lengthens?

Geez, I have tried every brand of drug store mascara out there, (maybelline, loreal, Neutrogena, Maxfactor, Covergirl, Revlon, Rimmel, etc.) with no great results. I have short, sparse, thin lashes. I'm looking for a volumizing mascara that doesn't clump or smudge, and gives some length.-Preferably a mascara that isn't a whole lot of money. I'm ready to just give up on the whole thing because I'm spending way too much money trying everything then throwing it out. PLEASE HELP!!!!
